About Miki & Shoppu

My name is Miki, owner of Shoppu, a Toronto-based clothing shop, offering a carefully selected range of rare, one-of-a-kind pieces sourced from Japan and around the world.

While Japanese fashion forms the heart of the collection with both new and worn garments — spanning vintage and contemporary streetwear, high-end mode, avant-garde silhouettes, and archive-era designer pieces — the inventory reaches beyond any single origin or era, covering tops, bottoms, outerwear, knitwear, dresses, and accessories.

If you would like to shop my collection, you can book an appointment in store at Shoppu, located at 896 College Street in Toronto, or shop my site with shipping options to Canada, the United States, and internationally.

Selected With Intention

Since 2006, I have worked in the fashion industry across Osaka, Tokyo, and the United States, gaining experience in many different areas of clothing and styling.

From selling Italian prêt-à-porter brandsassisting stylists, buying vintage pieces, and managing and buying for Japanese select shops, I have spent years seeing, touching, and introducing clothing to people from many different perspectives.

I work with both vintage and new pieces equally, without separating them by age or category, focusing instead on how each item feels today when worn.

Through those experiences, I developed a simple approach: I only carry pieces I genuinely believe in.

Fabric, construction, silhouette, comfort, and the feeling a person gets when they put something on — these are the things I value most when selecting clothing.

I do not select pieces based only on labels or trends. Everything in the shop is chosen through my own eyes, experience, and filter.

I hope that when you visit the shop or browse online, you will find something that resonates with you and makes you feel good.
